Rosberg signs a perfect weekend in Spain

There are now only 20 points separating Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton in the world drivers’ championship, still in favor of the Briton. A little less than a victory…

The two Mercedes drivers engaged in a distance battle during the race, and it was Nico Rosberg who emerged victorious for the first time this season: “We had a perfect weekend in Spain,” the German said as he got out of his car on Sunday. “We had a fantastic car and everyone did a great job during the break, so I want to thank the team for that.”

If Lewis Hamilton, long stuck behind Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari, wasn’t really able to put pressure on his teammate, the latter’s victory remains an important moment in his season as he willingly admits himself: « For the first time this season, my start was great. From there, I was able to control my pace and never felt in danger during the race. I am very happy with this victory. It is still very early in the season and it’s a good thing to close the gap with Lewis [in the championship]. I will continue to push hard, especially in Monaco, for my home race. »

The next Grand Prix will therefore take place on the streets of the Principality on May 24. Nico Rosberg won the last two editions of the race in Monaco and is therefore the frontrunner.
