Fernando Alonso provides an update on his health status
Through a video posted on his YouTube account, Fernando Alonso, who crashed last Sunday driving his McLaren during a testing day in Barcelona, finally speaks about his health, dispelling recent uncertainties.
Since Sunday, and the exit of the MP4-30 in turn no. 3 of the Barcelona circuit, genuine concerns have arisen regarding Fernando Alonso’s health.
During a routine pre-season testing day at the Barcelona circuit in Spain, Fernando Alonso lost control of his car, apparently due to strong winds, and crashed sideways into the inner wall of the track.
An accident that some people, including Sebastian Vettel who was following him at the time, described as strange and which forced the Spanish driver to stay in the hospital for several days under observation. The most extravagant rumors then emerged regarding the health of the double world champion, for whom the medical care was completely appropriate in the context of a collision with the wall that inflicted more than 25G laterally, which is quite rare in Formula 1.
Today, the McLaren driver, who is resting at his home in Spain, wanted to reassure his fans through a video posted on his YouTube account in which he stated: « As you can see, I’m perfectly fine. I would have liked to participate in this week’s tests in Barcelona, but the doctors advised me to wait a few more days. I will spend the weekend resting and will keep you updated next week regarding my recovery. »
