Sunday: Marussia F1 and Bianchi could not do any better at Monza
The Italian Grand Prix of Formula 1 was not good for Marussia: Max Chilton did not complete more than 10 laps before his accident, and Jules Bianchi was never in Kamui Kobayashi's rhythm.
Jules Bianchi (No. 17) – 18th
Behind Kobayashi for the entire race, the Frenchman believes he couldn’t really do better: « It was really a difficult race for us, but I did everything the team asked of me and nothing more was possible. At the end, we struggled a bit with speed on the straights and couldn’t make progress. The whole team knows the areas we need to improve, and everyone is pushing hard to extract the maximum from the package. »
Max Chilton (No. 4) – Retirement (accident)
An overly optimistic braking in the second chicane ended the Briton’s race: « A disappointing premature end for me. Unfortunately, it’s my fault: I braked a little too late and couldn’t make the turn. I hit the speed bumps at turn 4, which unexpectedly sent me airborne, I landed hard and ended up in the gravel. It was more than disappointing because I was holding back Grosjean. »
