Friday: Williams’s updates are working according to Bottas
Williams brought a specific package to Monza. For Valtteri Bottas, it works. As for Felipe Massa, there is still work to be done but optimism prevails for the Italian F1 Grand Prix.
Valtteri Bottas (#77) – 12th and 5th
With a better session in the afternoon, the Finn believes that the new features introduced in Monza are effective: We tested a new aerodynamic package that works well. With the low downforce, the car slides a bit more but it’s manageable. I’m really happy with the pace on long runs, but I think there’s a bit more to gain. Qualifying will be tight tomorrow. So, we’re ready to work hard tonight to find all possible improvements.
Felipe Massa (No. 19) – 13th and 9th
For the Brazilian, there is still work to do, but optimism is the order of the day: « The day was fine; we have a lot of work to do this evening and even more tomorrow. We can always improve and move forward to be a strong challenger for the teams at the front. »
