Haas Formula becomes Haas F1 Team
Expected in 2016 on the Formula 1 World Championship grids, Haas Formula took the name Haas F1 Team and launched its website.
Gene Haas announced that his team, initially called Haas Formula from the time of its entry for the FIA’s call for applications, is taking on the more evocative name “Haas F1 Team”. Haas Formula will still remain as the name of the company registered for the Formula 1 World Championship.
In a statement, G. Haas, the owner of the digital tooling equipment company Haas Automation, explains: « Haas F1 Team automatically informs about our place within the pinnacle of motorsport. When you hear “F1,” you know exactly what it is: a global racing championship that showcases the latest technology and attracts the greatest talents in engineering and design. Haas Automation has an excellent reputation in the United States, and I want that reputation to extend internationally. »
« Connecting Haas Automation with F1 in both name and practice when the Haas F1 Team makes its debut in 2016 is the best way to advance our business and elevate Haas Automation to a premium, global brand, » he added.
Since its official arrival in Formula 1, Haas has woven ties with Scuderia Ferrari, which appears to be the favorite to supply the American team, set to make its debut in 2016, with hybrid blocks and technical and logistical support. Recently, there have been reports of Maranello possibly using Gene Haas’s team as a sort of junior team.
In parallel with this announcement, a website was launched by Haas, along with a Twitter account and a Facebook page.
