Official: Magnussen penalized for his defense against Alonso
Under investigation after a vigorous defense against Fernando Alonso during the Belgian Grand Prix of F1, Kevin Magnussen was found guilty and is penalized with a 20-second penalty.
After a solid race that allowed him to secure sixth position under the checkered flag, Kevin Magnussen was ejected from the top 10 after receiving a 20-second penalty for pushing Fernando Alonso off track in the final laps of the Belgian Grand Prix. He also received a 2-point penalty on his Super License.
The Dane therefore drops from 6th to 12th position, as the stewards found him guilty of not leaving enough space for the Spaniard during the Ferrari driver’s attack.
