Saturday: Sauber F1 and Sutil find their smiles again in Hungary
Sauber achieved its best qualifying of the season during the Hungarian Grand Prix in Formula 1, with Adrian Sutil in 12th and Esteban Gutierrez in 14th on the grid.
Adrian Sutil (No. 99) – 15th and 12th
The German enjoyed himself today, which was reflected in the results: « It was an exciting qualification. The 12th place is my best result of the season. We were quite competitive today and thus, driving was much more fun. Despite that, it was difficult to adapt my driving because we had a different setup this morning. It wasn’t easy to execute a perfect lap. In the end, it was important to stay cool. My engineer and I worked perfectly together. »
Esteban Gutierrez (No. 21) – 16th and 14th
The Mexican is delighted with the regained competitiveness of the C33: « I think the whole team did a very good job over the weekend. We explored a lot of settings on Friday and managed to put everything together today. We need to continue in this direction because we found a few tenths and came back on the teams ahead of us. Adrian did a great lap at the end. In my last lap, I encountered yellow flags, so I had to abort my attempt and return immediately to the pits. »
