Friday: Vergne and Kvyat exchange the right balance at Toro Rosso
The Friday of the Hungarian Grand Prix Formula 1 was mixed for Toro Rosso: in free practice 1, Daniil Kvyat struggled with his balance, while in free practice 2 it was Jean-Eric Vergne who suffered from it.
Jean-Eric Vergne (No. 25) – 7th and 12th
The Frenchman experienced a day of highs and lows, with a stubborn balance: « There was good and bad today. This morning, I was quite happy with the car’s behavior, but in the afternoon, the balance had worsened, making it difficult to drive. We need to understand why we lost performance in FP2 to get the best out of the car, but I still believe we have the potential to progress. »
Daniil Kvyat (n°26) – 13th and 11th
On the Russian side, on the contrary, the day improved: « It was a studious Friday as usual, where we tried to accomplish as much as possible. I enjoyed driving on this circuit, but I wasn’t too happy with the car’s balance in FP1. However, we made a step forward during the afternoon session. Hopefully, we can make another one tomorrow. »
