Sunday: Bianchi and Marussia lose ground to Sauber F1
The German Grand Prix in Formula 1 was an opportunity for Marussia to note that the gap slightly widened with Sauber. Despite this, Jules Bianchi had a good race after a difficult start, while Max Chilton was unable to gain an advantage over Kamui Kobayashi's Caterham.
Jules Bianchi (No. 17) – 15th
Glued to the grid at the time of takeoff, the Frenchman then exerted his effort to have a smooth race, better than his followers but slower than his predecessors: « I had a problem at the start and found myself last, but I got back in front of Kobayashi and Max in a few laps, I was happy about that. After that, the race went very well for me. I was able to keep everyone behind me and was a bit faster than the cars behind, [but] we weren’t fast enough to catch the Saubers. »
Max Chilton (#4) – 17th
Stuck behind a Caterham, the Briton couldn’t manage to overtake it, despite a strategy change: « I got a good start and managed to avoid the turn 1 accident, but after that, my race wasn’t as good. We changed strategy to try and get ahead of Kobayashi, but it didn’t work for us. I gave it my all but didn’t get enough from the car, so we have things to work on before Hungary. »
