Ferrari: Räikkönen will indeed be present in Germany
In an official statement, the Ferrari team confirmed the presence of Kimi Räikkönen behind the wheel of its F14-T for the upcoming German Grand Prix starting this Friday.
Following his accident during the first lap of the British Grand Prix about ten days ago, some questions remained about whether or not Kimi Räikkönen would be in the seat of his Ferrari for the next race.
Ferrari dispelled any doubt by stating, on the sidelines of the German Grand Prix, that their driver had fully recovered from his crash and would indeed be present behind the wheel at Hockenheim: « Kimi Räikkönen has fully recovered, » an official team statement specified.
The British weekend of the 2007 world champion was eventful, notably due to his statements regarding his probable retirement from Formula 1 at the end of 2015.
Recently, in an interview for his sponsor Hermes, Mika Hakkinen considered his compatriot’s statements to be unintelligent at this stage of the season: « When you start thinking about retiring, it has a negative effect on your motivation. You can no longer focus on what is needed in Formula 1. Everyone does what they think is right, but in my opinion, it wasn’t very tactically intelligent. »
