Haas will sponsor Ferrari
As Haas Formula is expected in F1 for 2016, Haas Automation, the company of American businessman Gene Haas, has concluded a sponsorship deal with Scuderia Ferrari that will begin at the British Grand Prix.
After delaying its entry into F1 in 2016, Gene Haas, CEO of the industrial machine tools company Haas Automation, and Ferrari have announced the start of a sponsorship partnership that will begin at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone.
The Haas logo will be displayed on the sidepods of the F14-T at Silverstone and, in principle, until the end of the 2015 season on the next Ferrari. It’s a way for Haas to underline the seriousness of its commitment to the top discipline a year and a half before its arrival on the grids, but also a confirmation of the ties that have already been established between the American team and Scuderia Ferrari. The supply of a hybrid V6 engine and genuine support are at the heart of the discussions.
For Marco Mattiacci, the director of the Scuderia, he welcomes this win-win partnership: “We are pleased to welcome Haas Automation as an official supplier. This agreement strengthens our existing ties with the United States, an important market not only for our company but also for Scuderia Ferrari, as it is one where the team already benefits from many significant partnerships,” he states on the Ferrari website. “In recent months, we have explored many potential areas of collaboration, and this agreement is the first step. It will allow Haas Automation to enhance its brand’s already strong exposure worldwide, thanks to the global reach of Formula 1.”
He confirms that negotiations are underway for a closer partnership: « In parallel, but as a separate project, Haas is committed to entering F1 with its own team; [this is] a testament to the growing interest in our sport in the United States, and on this point, technical discussions are ongoing between us. »
