Friday: Hülkenberg and Force India seek performance
Force India drivers, Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Pérez, are quite satisfied with their Friday in Canada but believe they can get more out of the VJM07.
Nico Hülkenberg (#27) – 11th and 13th
The German is satisfied with his first day in Montreal, but believes it’s possible to make the Force India faster: « The car was very manageable, but I felt there was more to be extracted, especially with the super-soft tires. Our goal is to extract a bit more performance for tomorrow. »
He knows that Saturday will be decisive, especially against tight competition: The entire field is very competitive and close here, so finding the perfect balance will be crucial. We need to put all the pieces of the puzzle together and execute a clean lap in qualifying.
Sergio Pérez (No. 11) – 12th and 14th
The Mexican described his day: « We tried different settings and aero parts this morning, and then we studied the soft and super-soft tires in the afternoon. Everything went as planned, except for a small problem at the end of the day, due to which we ended our session earlier than expected. »
« The positive thing, however, is that we have good information to improve our performance tomorrow. We have a good amount of work to do tonight to be in the best possible shape for the qualifying and obviously for the race, » he adds.
