Official: Vettel penalized 5 grid places
Following his issue at the beginning of Q3 during the Spanish Grand Prix Formula 1 qualifying, Sebastian Vettel will change his gearbox and will therefore be penalized five grid positions.
The troubles continue for Sebastian Vettel: after missing almost the entire Friday due to an electrical issue, the four-time world champion had to dismount during Q3 of the Spanish Grand Prix qualifying.
The reason, as he explained upon his return to the paddock, was a gearbox problem that Red Bull must change, with the team just announcing it on Twitter. As the regulations stipulate, Vettel is therefore penalized five places on the grid. He will start in 15th position.
Nico Hülkenberg, Sergio Pérez, Daniil Kvyat, Esteban Gutierrez, and Kevin Magnussen therefore gain a place.
