Bahrain Grand Prix: Rosberg Reprimanded by the FIA

During the second free practice session, Nico Rosberg, while on a slow lap, positioned himself in the middle of the straight between turns 13 and 14. However, when Sergio Pérez came racing down at full speed, the German driver made a slight move to the right, the very spot the Mexican had chosen to overtake, almost causing a collision between the two men.

The incident, quickly announced as being under investigation by the stewards, resulted in a reprimand for Nico Rosberg, guilty of obstructing Pérez, for violating Article 16.1 of the 2014 Sporting Regulations.

For his part, Esteban Gutierrez, who had been accused of the same infraction against Felipe Massa, did not receive a reprimand, as the stewards decided, after discussion and review of the footage, that no action was necessary.

As a reminder, a driver who accumulates three reprimands during the same season will receive a 10-place grid penalty for the Grand Prix following the third reprimand, provided that at least two of these three reprimands are for driving offenses (article 18.2 of the regulations).

To date, Nico Rosberg is the only driver to have received a reprimand.
