Little skit between Vettel and Rosberg in press conference

During the post-qualifying press conference, a minor incident involved Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg. In the final part of the qualifying session for the Malaysian Grand Prix, the four-time reigning world champion was apparently slightly hindered by a Mercedes during one of his timed laps, presumably that of his compatriot.

Thus, at the time of the questions asked by the journalists present in the room, the case was raised, and Sebastian Vettel did not fail to gently chide the championship leader: « Nico couldn’t see in his mirrors, I imagine. Obviously, I was on a flying lap and Nico was preparing for his fast lap, if I’m not mistaken, and not much happened. »

He continued on a more colorful note: « Obviously, it pissed me off at the time because… sorry, I was angry at the time because I was heading into turn 12 without knowing where to turn since I couldn’t see anything. The lap was lost but, in the same way, I think there was another car in front of Nico… »

At that moment, Nico Rosberg defended himself against any discomfort:

« I don’t think it was me.

– Non ? Alors c’était Lewis. Je pense que c’était une Mercedes.

– Je ne pense pas que c’était moi. Je n’ai jamais eu quelqu’un derrière moi » a assuré le vainqueur du Grand Prix d’Australie.

No matter, I encountered traffic, well, not really, there was a two or three second gap, but enough to make the next turn completely clogged. That’s how it is, replied Vettel. But the two men did not stop there as they continued their discussion among themselves to the point that Lewis Hamilton, questioned by a journalist, spoke up:

Hey guys, I can’t even hear myself think.

– Nous étions toujours en train de chercher qui c’était… » lui a répondu Sebastian Vettel.

It is worth noting that this session, held in humid conditions, saw an increase in cases of disruptions or contact, with several incidents being investigated by the stewards.
