Official: Federico Gastaldi Deputy Team Principal of Lotus F1
Lotus surprised everyone just before the first free practice session by announcing the appointment of Federico Gastaldi as deputy director. It seems that Enstone will have a dual leadership as Gérard Lopez will remain the director of the firm.
The potential candidates came forward one after another to replace Eric Boullier as the team director of Lotus. Ultimately, it is internally that the Enstone team will find the men of renewal. “The men” because there will actually be two: Lotus has indeed chosen to appoint Federico Gastaldi, an Argentine previously in charge of commercial development, to the position of deputy director, alongside Gérard Lopez who will remain at the head of the team as announced at the time of Eric Boullier’s departure.
