Michael Schumacher is still in the waking-up phase

Michael Schumacher has been hospitalized at the University Hospital of Grenoble since December 29, 2013, following a serious skiing accident at the French ski resort of Meribel. Placed in a coma for several weeks, followed by a prolonged awakening phase, rumors are growing about his state of health.

Faced with this often incorrect information, those close to the champion regularly step in to debunk the rumors. Last Wednesday, on the Canal + broadcast, Jean-Louis Moncet gave rather unsettling news about Schumacher, specifically mentioning that the attempts to wake the champion hadn’t worked.

Today, Sabine Kehm, Michael Schumacher’s press officer, issued a new statement to confirm that the German’s awakening phase was still active: « Michael is still in the awakening phase. The situation has not changed. Any medical information published that is not confirmed by Michael’s treating medical team or his family should be considered invalid. »
