Bahrain Test 2 Live – Day 4
MotorsInside invites you to follow the third and final session of Formula 1 winter testing in 2014, in Bahrain, at the Sakhir circuit, live and in full.
Continuation and conclusion of winter testing in Sakhir, where the teams will have one last opportunity to run their cars before the first free practice sessions of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, from March 14 to 16. On this occasion, long stint simulations, or even race simulations, and qualifying stints could multiply over these four days if, and only if, issues do not excessively hinder the teams’ track time.
After three days, the situation is as follows: Mercedes engines continue to impress, with Williams and Mercedes leading, Felipe Massa and Nico Rosberg having largely pulled away from the pack during the third day. On the Ferrari side, it was mainly endurance and reliability that were focused on, despite some minor alerts similar to Mercedes. The struggles were mainly for the Italian engine manufacturer’s customer teams: Marussia and Sauber experiencing alternating difficult days. Finally, concerning Renault engines: Caterham finally completed the first race simulation for the diamond brand, Toro Rosso is running moderately, Lotus is unable to complete more than thirty laps, and Red Bull is still suffering significantly.
For this fourth and final day, the following drivers will be on track, unless the program changes: Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), Romain Grosjean (Lotus), Jenson Button (McLaren), Nico Hülkenberg (Force India), Esteban Gutierrez / Adrian Sutil (Sauber), Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso), Valtteri Bottas (Williams), Max Chilton (Marussia), and Kamui Kobayashi (Caterham). You can also find the complete schedule of these tests.
The tests being not televised, the editorial team of MotorsInside will host a live text feed throughout the day to keep you informed of the track activity. The tests will start at 7:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. A half-hour break will be observed at 11:00 a.m.
