Bahrain Test 2 live – Day 2

Continuation and conclusion of winter testing in Sakhir, where the teams will have one last opportunity to run their cars before the first free practice sessions of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, from March 14 to 16. On this occasion, long stint simulations, or even race simulations, and qualifying stints could increase during these four days if, and only if, issues do not overly hinder the teams’ track time.

The first day of this last week of testing was marked by the fastest lap – although not very significant – set by Sergio Pérez for Force India-Mercedes, as well as the substantial mileage racked up by cars powered by a German engine, with 431 laps compared to 187 laps for Ferrari and 145 for Renault. Renault, in particular, is still grappling with setup issues, according to Rémi Taffin. Red Bull, Lotus, and Caterham suffered greatly during this day and will hope for better today.

For this first day, the drivers on track, unless there is a change in schedule, will be: Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), Pastor Maldonado (Lotus), Jenson Button (McLaren), Sergio Pérez (Force India), Esteban Gutierrez (Sauber), Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso), Felipe Massa (Williams), Jules Bianchi (Marussia), and Marcus Ericsson (Caterham). You can also find the complete schedule for these tests.

Since the tests are not televised, the Motors Inside editorial team will run a live text update throughout the day to keep you informed of the track activity. The tests will begin at 7:00 AM and will end at 3:30 PM. A half-hour break will be observed at 11:00 AM.
