Lotus unveils its E22
It's Lotus's turn to unveil its new single-seater, just a few minutes after the presentation of the new McLaren.
It is a flood of news hitting the F1 world this Friday: after the announcement of Eric Boullier’s departure, the presentation of the new McLaren MP4-29, Lotus reveals their new Lotus E22 through their Twitter account.
Visually, the Lotus E22 is different from the previously presented single-seaters with a nose of a different design, reminiscent of the one Audi used on its cars competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans a few years ago. This choice likely explains why the E22 had to undergo certain crash tests imposed by the International Federation again.
Powered by Renault, the new Enstone single-seater will be driven this season by Romain Grosjean (#8) and Pastor Maldonado (#13).
Lotus will be the only team not to go to Jerez next week for the first winter tests ahead of the Formula 1 season.
