McLaren presents its MP4-29
It is McLaren's turn to unveil their new single-seater that will compete in the 2014 championship and will be driven by Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen.
The numerous changes at McLaren at the start of the year make the launch of the new MP4/19 an anticipated event in the small world of Formula 1.
The return of Ron Dennis as head of McLaren Group, the likely appointment of Eric Boullier to replace Martin Whitmarsh, and the assignment of young Danish driver Kevin Magnussen will attempt, along with the new car, to erase a disastrous and podium-less 2013 season.
As announced, the livery of this new McLaren is devoid of a main sponsor. However, it seems that the colors are not final because, despite the renewal of the partnership with the Woking team, the Santander logos do not appear on the car but are present on the suits of the three drivers, Jenson Button, Kevin Magnussen, and the Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne.
No announcement has been made yet regarding the name of the sporting director, although rumors are intensifying about the appointment of the Frenchman Eric Boullier, who left his position at Lotus, in this role.
The new single-seater will be on track from January 28, for the first test sessions scheduled at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in Spain.
