Saxo Bank new partner of Lotus F1

The Lotus team unveiled a new partnership today with the Danish bank Saxo Bank. The online investment bank is already present in the high-level sports world as it is the main sponsor of the cycling team named after it, which includes, among others, the Spanish rider Alberto Contador.

Eric Boullier is enthusiastic about this new partnership: « We are delighted to start a partnership with Saxo Bank. The approach taken by Saxo Bank for this new partnership with Lotus is exciting and dynamic, and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship together. »

The director of Lotus also takes the opportunity to clarify the financial situation of his team, often criticized in recent days, especially after the Quantum saga: « The goal is clear: we cannot have another year like 2013 and we do not want that. We want to bring long-term stability to this team. With the shareholders, we’ve gone through many discussions and decisions, and a restructuring process over the last few weeks. I think the team is in good shape now with certain guarantees on operational funding needs,” he told our colleagues at Autosport.

He adds: I think that now, at least for /f1/actualite/16823-lotus-lopez-clarifie-la-situation-et-confirme-lechec-dun-deal-avec-quantum.html and perhaps a bit beyond, the team can stabilize. We can bring some calm. I know where we are today with the car and we will still be in the running for, hopefully, a few podiums in the year.
