Great concern after Michael Schumacher’s skiing accident?
According to Europe 1, Michael Schumacher reportedly fell while skiing this morning. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion is said to be suffering from a head injury.
While on the ski slopes of the Méribel resort in Savoie this morning, Michael Schumacher reportedly suffered a severe fall. The German is said to have fallen alone and suffered a head injury, according to the French media Europe 1.
Already, in 2008 and 2009, the German driver had been the victim of several motorcycle crashes, including a very severe one that significantly injured his neck, preventing his return to the cockpit of a Scuderia single-seater to replace Felipe Massa, who was seriously injured during the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix.
Update at 2:02 PM: the radio RMC reached Christophe Gernignon-Lecomte, the general director of the Méribel station: « He was evacuated by helicopter to a hospital in Moûtiers. The gendarmes are currently conducting their investigation into the origins of the fall. » If the German « hit a rock », C. Germignon-Lecomte indicated that the seven-time world champion, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was « shocked, a bit agitated but conscious. »

Update at 18:26: Professor Gérard Saillant, a renowned neurosurgeon and friend of Michael Schumacher, visited the bedside of the German at the Grenoble University Hospital to analyze the results of the tests conducted during the afternoon.
