The Sauber drivers continue to ride the wave that has carried them since the Italian Grand Prix: while Esteban Gutierrez is happy with his first time at the Circuit of the Americas, Nico Hülkenberg is not completely satisfied and believes there is still room for improvement.

Friday: Sauber is in good shape

Esteban Gutierrez – 4th and 6th:

« It was a productive day. Even though the delay [of the first session] wasn’t ideal, I felt comfortable with the track and enjoyed driving here. That’s important. We are in good shape, but we now need to focus on maintaining this for tomorrow’s qualifying and Sunday’s race. I think we have a very good chance of getting a good result here. There are still two races to go, and my goal is to make the most of what we have. »

Nico Hülkenberg – 9th and 7th:

« It was quite a good day. This morning, it was a bit of a funny situation with the fog that delayed FP1. Once the session started, everything went well, and we managed to complete the program we had planned. The car was decent, and the performance seemed good too. However, I think there is always room for improvements, but I’m not yet happy with the balance on the medium tires. It will be tight tomorrow, but I think we can improve. »
