Saturday: Disappointment prevails in the Force India camp
Paul di Resta is struggling this weekend in Singapore with his Force India, and the Scotsman was eliminated in Q1. Adrian Sutil made it to Q2 but could only manage the 15th fastest time. Both men will start far back on the grid tomorrow but still hope to climb up and fight for points.
Adrian Sutil – 18th and 15th:
The 15th place is a disappointment because it’s far from what we hoped for. We are too slow to fight for the top 10 at the moment, and everyone is working hard to try to understand where we are losing time. All we can do is keep fighting tomorrow, and if we have a good strategy, hopefully, we can gain some positions.
Paul Di Resta – 16th and 17th:
« I think we just weren’t fast enough today and all weekend I’ve struggled with my pace on a single lap. I think we can be more optimistic for the race and our speed seems better on long runs, with little tire degradation. But we have work to do tomorrow if we want to fight for points. We came here and tried to replicate as much as possible what we did last year [he finished 4th in the Grand Prix], but we weren’t able to do it. We have a long and challenging race ahead of us, and overtaking is complicated, but anything can happen and we will keep fighting. »
