Singapore – Free Practice 3: Vettel Does Not Weaken

This final practice session will take place in conditions similar to yesterday. The mercury shows 32 degrees in the air. Esteban Gutiérrez is the first driver to hit the track, at the wheel of his Sauber. He is quickly joined by his teammate and the Marussia drivers.

In the beginning of the session, drivers are asked to be cautious of the marbles left by the GP2 cars. Ricciardo complains about his brakes while Nico Rosberg is not satisfied with his steering.

The first time goes to Charles Pic with 1:52.954. Time improved by 8 tenths a few moments later by Giedo Van der Garde in the second Caterham. The Dutchman sets a lap of 1:50.792 on the next lap.

After 15 minutes, both Force India cars occupy the top two positions in the final practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix. However, Sutil is not satisfied with the behavior of his car and lets his team know.

As we approach the half-hour mark of the session, the heavy hitters flex their muscles with Rosberg, Hamilton, and Grosjean leading the pack.

At mid-session, Webber leads ahead of Hamilton, Grosjean, Rosberg, and Vettel. 1:46.220 for the future Australian retiree. Vettel positions himself in his slipstream 20 minutes before the checkered flag.

As Daniel Ricciardo prepares to get back into his Toro Rosso, not forgetting the essential accessories to cool down, Nico Rosberg is making a steering wheel change in the Mercedes garage.

Less than 10 minutes and the drivers return with super-soft tires. Romain Grosjean is the first to cross the line. 1:44.364 for the Frenchman. Alonso places second with 1:45.257. But it’s Sebastian Vettel who quickly takes the lead with a time of 1:44.173. There are now less than 5 minutes remaining.

The final top 5 this morning is Vettel, Grosjean, Rosberg, Webber, and Hamilton. Fernando Alonso is sixth.
