Friday: The Red Bull drivers are optimistic
After winning the two Grand Prix following the summer break, Sebastian Vettel arrives here full of confidence. And it pays off, with an RB9 that seems untouchable. Mark Webber, on the other hand, sees more work to be done and doesn't want to count his chickens before they hatch.
Sebastian Vettel – 3rd and 1st
« It was quite a busy day; it’s very hot outside, with lots of fun and a nice place, but for all of us, it’s quite hard work. The time we achieved was a surprise for us, I had a good out lap, but I don’t think it’s completely representative. We seem fast, but I think Mercedes will be very strong tomorrow in qualifying. I think turn number 10 is the best solution we have with the available space. »
Mark Webber – 2nd and 2nd
« We have completed the majority of the work we planned to do today. It’s easy here not to succeed in getting what you want, but in the end, I think we have reasonably good settings. We have work to do on the long runs and also on the short runs, you can’t neglect that. We are not putting the cart before the horse, but the day went smoothly. Turn number 10 is better now I think. »
