Sunday: Hülkenberg Places Sauber in the Top 5 at Monza

After a strong qualifying session for Nico Rosberg in his Sauber, fifth place in the race seems like the best possible result for the German, given the pace of the Red Bulls and Ferraris. On Esteban Gutierrez's side, disappointment prevails, but progress is to be noted.

Sunday: Hülkenberg Places Sauber in the Top 5 at Monza

Nico Hülkenberg – 5th:

« It’s a great result and, after yesterday, another great performance from the team today. I’m very happy and fifth place was the ideal result. Even though I started 3rd, it was always clear that keeping the Ferraris and the Red Bulls behind wasn’t realistic. I lost two places right from the start, but then the pace was good and, especially at the end, I was able to come back a bit. I kept the Mercedes behind me with Nico [Rosberg] who didn’t give me any margin for error. It’s a very nice race for the team, and finally we are still collecting some points. I hope this gives us good momentum so we can stay in this form for the next two races. »

Esteban Gutierrez – 13th:

The start was quite decent. I gained a position, but the first corner was tricky. It was important to keep the car intact. I was able to stabilize during the first laps. I was trying to manage the tires as well as I could, but obviously, you can’t compromise your race too much. Overall, it was a good race. Obviously, we can’t be happy because it’s not a great result. However, the race was positive. Now, we need to improve in qualifying so that we can start from a better position. I am confident we will get there.
