Saturday: Force India will do everything possible to score points in the race
While Force India was a team regularly scoring points in the first third of the championship, both drivers this time were eliminated from qualifying in Q2, after coming close to the Q1 exit. Both drivers are suffering from a lack of grip and are expecting a tough battle tomorrow.
Adrian Sutil – 16th and 14th [17th on the grid after his penalty ]
« A difficult qualifying session today. We made some changes overnight, but they didn’t really show much improvement during the last free practice, which is strange. So there wasn’t much to do before qualifying apart from changing a few other things to try to improve the balance. The car seemed better in qualifying, but we’re still too far from where we should be. My lap in Q2 was not bad and 14th place was our maximum today. Our goal for tomorrow is to score points and even though it will be a tough task, we’ll do our best. »
Paul di Resta – 17th and 16th [15th on the grid]:
« It was a mixed day between a broken brake disc this morning that cost us time on track, which meant we had to go into qualifying with settings far from optimized. The guys did a fantastic job getting the car ready on time, but we definitely didn’t have the performance to do better than 16th place. It’s fair to say we are struggling with our one-lap pace here, so hopefully, we’ll be more competitive in race conditions. There’s also talk of weather changes, so maybe we can do something with the strategy to gain positions in the race. »
