Force India abandons its 2013 car to prepare for 2014

The Force India team started the 2013 season well, even dreaming of a second podium in F1 (after the first at Spa in 2009 with Giancarlo Fisichella) in Bahrain, but Paul di Resta ultimately finished in 4th place at the end.

The Indian team held the 5th place in the constructors’ championship for a long time, ahead of McLaren, but the last few races have not gone very well for the team based in Silverstone, and the Greys have moved back in front. According to Adrian Sutil, the team has stopped developing and improving its 2013 single-seater.

Force India notably suffered from the Pirelli tire change, and even if the VJM06 is not expected to evolve by the end of the season, Sutil remains confident, as quoted by Auto Motor und Sport on the possibilities of seeing the team progress: « Maybe we can find a way to solve the problems. There is nothing new planned for this year. But sometimes, you can gain by optimizing the package you have. You can find a lot of time when all you can do is better utilize what is at your disposal. »

With significant regulation changes for the next season, the Indian team wants to prepare as well as possible to continue its ascent to the top of Formula 1 and achieve its goal of finally securing a podium or even more.
