Saturday: Di Resta laughs and Sutil cries at Force India

Paul di Resta held the provisional pole position for a long time and only had to relinquish it due to a lull, following a masterful gamble. For Adrian Sutil, however, managing the changing conditions wasn't as successful, relegating the German to the second part of the grid.

Saturday: Di Resta laughs and Sutil cries at Force India

Paul di Resta – 15th and 5th

The fifth place on the grid is a great result. At the start of Q3, I knew I wanted to go out on intermediates. It was a brave decision and the team let me do it, while others opted for slicks. I knew it was our best chance to be at the front of the grid and it paid off. It’s a shame the rain stopped a little too early because there were only a few cars that were faster than us in the rain, and they got ahead at the end of the session. The most important thing is that we are in a good position for tomorrow and we will come back ready to fight.

Adrian Sutil – 13th and 12th

« I am disappointed with the way things ended today because I think we had the potential to get a better result. In Q2, I was on my last flying laps a bit too early and the track was getting faster and faster. So, we should have waited a little longer and I think it would have made a difference to get into the top 10. Also, I had a bit of traffic on my fast lap and it cost me time.
