Saturday: Difficult Qualifications for Force India

The Sahara Force India team was hoping for more from this qualifying, especially for Paul di Resta who finishes 18th, but the Scotsman will have many new tires to climb back in the race tomorrow. Adrian Sutil will start in 11th position and hopes to score points.

Saturday: Difficult Qualifications for Force India

Adrian Sutil – 10th and 11th:

« The first part of the qualifications was tricky, and it was difficult to find the expected pace. I had good sensations with the car, but we weren’t particularly fast as I was only 15th at the end of Q1. I wasn’t sure where we were losing, but the team made some adjustments which improved things in Q2. My lap times were much better, and for a moment it seemed possible to be in the top 10, but then I was pushed back to 11th place at the last moment. I’m happy with my lap, and it was the limit for me today. 11th is a good place for the start because it leaves us the choice of tire strategy. The goal tomorrow will be to push and score points. »

Paul di Resta – 13th and 18th:

« A difficult session and I’m a bit lost on the reasons for our struggles with the soft tires. In all sessions, we seemed more competitive with the softs, but in Q1, they didn’t work. We’ve given ourselves a lot of work to do for tomorrow, but we’re going to do it and come back fresh and ready to fight. We need to move forward and think about strategy tonight, but at least we have a lot of tires available. I think the main issue to address is what happened with our performance today so we can bounce back tomorrow. »
