This weekend, the F1 paddock has set up at the Nürburgring circuit, the venue for the 9th Grand Prix of the 2013 season. Unlike last week at Silverstone, there should be no issues with the tires as Pirelli and the FIA have taken the appropriate measures.
In pole position, we find a Mercedes once again, with Lewis Hamilton securing his second consecutive pole position. Behind him are the two Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber in close pursuit. They are followed by the two Lotus cars of Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean and the Toro Rosso of Daniel Ricciardo.
In 7th and 8th positions, we find the two Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso. The Italian team took the gamble of setting a time on mediums in qualifying, and the progression of the two red cars will be worth watching during the first round of pit stops.
The top 10 is concluded by Jenson Button and Nico Hülkenberg, both of whom will have a choice of tires as they didn’t set a timed lap in Q3. Just behind, we will find Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes, which will undoubtedly attempt to climb back up the rankings.
