The 2013 young driver tests at Silverstone in mid-July?
Unlike in 2012, the Formula 1 teams have reportedly managed to agree on a single date for the young driver tests this season. They could thus take place at Silverstone in mid-July.
Last season, the 12 Formula 1 teams were unable to agree on the date for the three test days for young drivers. Initially scheduled at the Yas Marina circuit in November after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, for logistical and cost reasons, another date was proposed, in July at Silverstone after the British Grand Prix.
Finally, the teams were unable to arrange a joint test session, allowing them to conduct this session at their convenience. While Williams, HRT, and Marussia chose to run at Silverstone and Lotus, McLaren, Red Bull, Sauber, Toro Rosso, and Caterham at Abu Dhabi, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Force India decided to run at Magny-Cours in September.
This season, things should be different. Indeed, according to *Auto Motor und Sport*, the teams have reportedly managed to agree on holding these tests in Europe, specifically at Silverstone. These three days of testing could thus take place in mid-July—possibly from July 17th to 19th, in the three-week interval between the German Grand Prix and the Hungarian Grand Prix.
