Follow the 2013 Bahrain Grand Prix live

As last week in Shanghai, the tires are expected to play an important role today during the Bahrain Grand Prix, and the vast majority of drivers will be fully aware that this race could hold many surprises for them. Without an excellent strategy and good tire management, their position at the finish could turn out to be quite distant from their starting position.

Nico Rosberg will try to maintain the advantage his pole position gives him, but he will have a tough challenge with reigning triple world champion Sebastian Vettel alongside him and just behind him Fernando Alonso in his Ferrari.

It will also be important to keep an eye on the other Ferrari, that of Felipe Massa, who will start from the 4th position on the grid on hard tires and should therefore have a longer first stint than his main rivals. Also worth watching are the performances of Mark Webber (7th on the grid) and Lewis Hamilton (9th on the grid) who, even though they are starting a bit further back due to their respective penalties, will undoubtedly try to climb back up the hierarchy in the opening laps before any significant gaps are created at the front of the race.
