Saturday: The Sauber drivers stop in Q2

The Sauber drivers did not manage to make it to Q2 due to the rain. Nico Hülkenberg went out with a set of worn medium tires without knowing that rain would come, while Esteban Gutiérrez went out too late with a new set. However, both men are determined to recover tomorrow and both aim for points.

Saturday: The Sauber drivers stop in Q2

Nico Hülkenberg – 13th and 12th:

« The balance of the car is not yet completely good. We went out with a set of used mediums in Q2. We didn’t have any information on the weather because the radar wasn’t working. If we had known that the rain was coming, we would have gone out with a new set. Overall, our pace wasn’t as good as expected, but nothing is lost starting in 12th position. We have to wait and see what the weather will bring for tomorrow’s race and be prepared for all conditions. »

Esteban Gutiérrez – 16th and 14th:

« Unfortunately, we couldn’t extract the maximum from the car in Q2. We went out too late on new tires and were caught by the rain. The team changed the setup to provide a good base between the third practice and the qualifying, which is very positive. Now, we’re looking forward to the race. We need to analyze everything and think of a good strategy for tomorrow to be in the points. »
