Friday: Force India in Melbourne’s pace
In the top 10 of both sessions, Force India seems to confirm its good performance from the Australian Grand Prix last week; an impression confirmed by Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil, who will still need to work on managing the two types of tires.
Adrian Sutil – 6th and 10th:
« The morning went well and the balance was quite good. We made a change during lunch to correct a bit of oversteering and my general feeling with the car is good. I missed a few stints this afternoon, but I think the rain interrupted things for everyone, so I didn’t miss too much dry track time. I was still able to do a stint with the hard and medium tires this afternoon, so I have a feel for each compound. »
Paul di Resta – 8th and 8th:
« I think we had a decent day. We collected some tire data and the initial impressions suggest that our performance level is quite similar to what it was in Melbourne last week. I hope we can continue the progress tonight. Overall, I’m quite happy, but as always, there is work to be done tonight to ensure we are comfortable with both types of tires.
