Friday: Marussia doesn’t know where it stands
Unlike in Australia, Marussia did not dominate Caterham this Friday in Sepang. Jules Bianchi once again made a good impression by finishing ahead of a Williams this morning. Max Chilton, on the other hand, did not move up from the bottom of the standings. Both drivers believe that the team can still improve before starting the qualifying session tomorrow.
Jules Bianchi – 20th and 18th:
I’m happy with the work we’ve accomplished today, but it’s always difficult to finish a Friday without having a precise idea of where we stand. I’m satisfied with the performance and we’ve made progress on the settings. It’s my first time driving here, and I’m pleased with how I’ve acclimated to the track. Now we have to see how the rest of the weekend goes. It could be frustrating or exciting. We’ll see.
Max Chilton – 22nd and 22nd:
It wasn’t the best of days but I know from experience that this circuit presents many challenges. We were frustrated in different areas but we made progress and had some good runs. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the weekend unfolds. The rain should play a role, that seems quite obvious. The rest is open for now and I think we’ll see an interesting qualifying session and race.
