Sunday: The performance was not up to expectations for Williams
For his first Formula 1 race, Valtteri Bottas managed to see the checkered flag, but the Finn finished far back in 14th position. As for Pastor Maldonado, he retired after getting stuck in the gravel. Disappointment is evident in the Williams camp, which will do everything to bounce back next weekend in Malaysia.
Valtteri Bottas – 14th:
« I got off to a good start from my position on the grid and it was nice to race again. However, I lost a few places due to a mistake after a few laps. We got the most out of the car’s performance today, and even though the pace wasn’t there, there are positives to take from it. The next race is only in a week, so we’re going to work very hard to prepare as best as we can to try to score our first points of the season. »
Pastor Maldonado – Retirement:
This was the disappointing end to a difficult weekend for the team and me. The car didn’t respond as we hoped in today’s conditions, and unfortunately, I lost the rear and ended up in the gravel. We need to work hard to resolve the car’s problems to be ready for the next race in Malaysia.
