Friday: Solid start to the weekend at Lotus
Romain Grosjean and Kimi Räikkönen were impressive today on the Albert Park circuit, and even though they are aware that they might not have the fastest car on the grid, they expressed satisfaction with the good performance of the Lotus E21.
Kimi Räikkönen – 6th and 4th:
« It’s good that the season is starting and the car seems quite strong here. I don’t think we’re the fastest but it’s a good start. It was nice to have a day without reliability issues after spending quite a bit of time in the garage during testing. The track was as I remembered it and there were no surprises from the car. We’ll see what happens tomorrow during qualifying as it might be a bit colder. I’m happy with my weekend so far. »
Romain Grosjean – 10th and 5th:
« It’s nice to drive on this track on a beautiful day like today. The track was good, and the car as well. It took a little time to get good grip, but that’s how it is on street circuits. We made good progress with the car’s setup in both sessions, and I think there’s still more to come, which is promising. »
