Friday: Mixed results for Force India
This Friday marked the big return to competition for Adrian Sutil in Formula 1. The German driver immediately found his rhythm, while his teammate Paul di Resta had to struggle with the balance of his car. However, both members of the Force India team seem to be starting from a strong foundation for their work.
Paul di Resta – 13th and 12th:
« It was not a very easy day for me because I had balance issues with my single-seater during the second session. It seems that I sustained some damage, so it wasn’t easy to assess exactly where we stand. Since it might be wet tomorrow, it was essential to gather all the information we need about the tires today. There is a noticeable difference between the two compounds, but it’s hard to say much more until we have been able to extract the maximum from all the data. »
Adrian Sutil – 8th and 9th:
« It was a very good day and I feel satisfied with my adjustments. It was not too far off from what we needed and the car was very similar to its behavior in Barcelona. I had a good feeling all day and enjoyed working with my engineers, whom I know very well. The track will obviously evolve and improve, but we already have a good idea for the tires. Tonight, the main objective is to work on improving the balance with the option tires. »
