Grosjean satisfied with his day in Jerez
Romain Grosjean expressed satisfaction with his first day of testing at the wheel of the Lotus E21 in Jerez.
The Lotus F1 team has decided to entrust the driving of the E21 to Romain Grosjean for the first two days of testing held in Jerez. The French driver hasn’t driven as much as most of his rivals, but he is still happy with his performance.
The Frenchman finishes in 3rd place on the timesheet and expressed satisfaction with his lap: « It’s a good time. » His best lap puts him nearly a second behind the best time of the day set by Jenson Button driving his McLaren. But nothing concerning for Grosjean, quite the opposite.
« It’s good not to have the fastest car because it allows us to know in which direction to go to improve, » said the Lotus driver at the end of this first day. Tomorrow, he will be back behind the wheel of the E21 before handing over to his teammate, Kimi Räikkönen, for the final two days on Wednesday and Thursday.
