Saturday: Force India wants to finish 2012 on a good note
For the last Grand Prix of this 2012 season, Sahara Force India hoped to place its two cars in the Top 10 during qualifying, but Paul di Resta ended up in 11th place. However, this does not stop the team from hoping for a good result tomorrow before taking a break and turning towards 2013.
Nico Hülkenberg – both 7th and 7th [6th on the grid]:
« It was a fun qualifying session and it reminded me of 2010 with the rain that fell just before the session. The track dried quite quickly and the car felt good. We clearly improved between practice and qualifying. So, seventh is not too bad and it’s probably what we expected. For tomorrow, we are in good shape. I have neutral settings so we can cope with any weather. It’s always a tough race, very physical, and there are some fast cars around us, but we should have the pace to achieve a good result. »
Paul di Resta – 6th and 11th [10th on the grid]:
« I was very happy with the car this morning, therefore we didn’t change much before qualifying. However, the track probably evolved due to the rain, and I didn’t feel as comfortable as this morning. We seemed quite strong in Q2 but my best lap was compromised because of the traffic with Kobayashi who was returning to the track. I think without that, we could have been in the Top 10. I tried another lap but I had already gotten the best out of the tires. I think that 11th place puts us in a reasonable position to do something tomorrow. We have a choice of tires, but obviously, that will depend on the weather. »
