Saturday: The Williams is competitive at Interlagos

Pastor Maldonado achieved a strong performance by qualifying 6th, but the Venezuelan driver was penalized and will start 16th instead. Bruno Senna, on the other hand, did not manage to qualify for Q3, but that doesn't stop him from aiming for points tomorrow.

Saturday: The Williams is competitive at Interlagos

Pastor Maldonado – 9th and 6th [16th on the grid]:

I’m happy with my result today in these qualifying sessions. It was very tight at the end of Q1 because of the traffic, but the car was good. It was consistent and fast, which means we were able to push to be in the top 10. We’ve continued the form from the last races, so things are looking good for the team.

Bruno Senna – 11th and 12th [11th on the grid]:

We were optimistic about our chances of entering Q3 today, but unfortunately since the temperatures warmed up, these were not the best conditions for the car, and we were running slower times than during the free practice this morning. We made several decisions before qualifying based on the expectation of having a slightly cooler track, but in the end, that was not the case. This 12th place isn’t such a bad starting position at Interlagos though, so we’re well positioned to score points tomorrow.
