Friday: High temperatures trouble Sauber
Held under very high temperatures, the two practice sessions did not go well for Sauber, who suffered from rear tire overheating.
Kamui Kobayashi – 12th and 15th:
« We did a lot of work on the setup today and also tested some aerodynamic elements. We had a studious day, but our performance level is still not good. Due to the high temperatures, the rear tires were overheating. Lap times were slower in the afternoon than in the morning. The rear is fragile and, so far, I don’t know how to get the tires down in temperature. We will work on that. »
Sergio Pérez – 13th and 14th:
« It was a good day considering we completed everything that was planned. We accomplished a good amount of work, but the heat just doesn’t suit us. I found the car very difficult to drive this afternoon and I think major changes are necessary. The difference between the two tire compounds is very marginal. Let’s see how we can progress. »
