Saturday: Williams aims for big points in Austin

If Pastor Maldonado managed to make it to Q3 in Austin, it was not the case for Bruno Senna. However, both Williams drivers will be close on the grid tomorrow because the Venezuelan could do no better than 10th time, while the Brazilian achieved the 11th fastest time. The entire Williams team is therefore hoping to score points tomorrow during the race.

Saturday: Williams aims for big points in Austin

Pastor Maldonado – 3rd and 10th:

The performance wasn’t there yesterday, so today it was much better for us. Unfortunately, in Q3, the grip wasn’t optimal because it was difficult to get the tires to work correctly. It’s important to be in the Top 10 for tomorrow nonetheless. We have a good car, so we’ll try to score big points tomorrow for what should be a great race. All around the track, there are Venezuelan flags, and I have a lot of support here because it’s close to my home country, so hopefully, that will give me extra motivation tomorrow!

Bruno Senna – 11th and 11th:

Unfortunately, I made a small mistake on my best lap in Q2, going a bit wide at turn 19 and then with dirty tires, it cost me around half a second and definitely a place in Q3. It’s frustrating but we are in a position to score points from where we are. We have a good car and we seemed competitive in race conditions yesterday during practice, so I’m confident for the race. It’s a track where we all push hard and it’s important not to let up.
