Friday: Vettel and Red Bull are wary of the McLarens
If Red Bull proved to be quick in the qualifying lap exercise, Sebastian Vettel believes they are vulnerable to the McLarens in race pace. For Mark Webber, the KERS—already a handicap for him in India—remains a problem and cost him track time.
Sebastian Vettel – 3rd and 1st:
I think we can be happy today. Overall, we had a good lap with the soft tires, but in terms of overall pace, the McLarens were fast and seem competitive, so they are the ones we need to follow and beat. We have to improve the car tonight to qualify as high as we can tomorrow.
Mark Webber – 5th and 4th:
« We had a KERS issue, which was not the same as last week. It never helps to miss track time during practice, but it’s not a big deal. The track will evolve a bit more compared to now, but not by much; it is in good condition. We will fix [our KERS problem] tonight and come back tomorrow. »
