Saturday: A thousandth of a second difference between HRT drivers

The two HRT drivers posted almost identical times during the qualifying session in India, with Pedro de la Rosa narrowly outperforming Narain Karthikeyan by just one thousandth of a second. Despite both being hindered by traffic, they believe they can have a good race tomorrow given the competitiveness of their F112 cars.

Saturday: A thousandth of a second difference between HRT drivers

Pedro de la Rosa – 24th and 22nd:

« Even though we didn’t find the lap we were hoping for, we had a very good qualifying session. With the first set of tires, the car performed very well, and I was able to complete three clear laps. However, with the second set and more rubber on the track where times can be improved, I encountered a lot of traffic and didn’t get a clear lap. The car was better today than yesterday, and we could have gone faster, but with the traffic, it was impossible. But the positive point is that we qualified well on a difficult circuit, and the car improved, so I hope to achieve a better result tomorrow. »

Narain Karthikeyan – 23rd and 23rd:

Overall, I am happy with the performance displayed during this qualifying session. In my second stint, I made a mistake which cost me a few tenths, but the large number of cars on track was the main problem because I couldn’t find a big enough gap to go as fast as I wanted. Regardless, I am happy because we finished ahead of one of the Marussia cars, my time was almost identical to Pedro’s and we have good pace so we can be satisfied. The car has improved and tomorrow we will try to keep progressing to achieve a good result in front of my compatriots.
