Thrill-seeker Michael Schumacher has decided that his future will no longer be in F1 but wants to try his hand at a new discipline where emotions are heightened... rodeo!
He is known to be close to his second retirement from sports as a Formula 1 driver, but what is less known is the future of Michael Schumacher. Once rumored as a potential test driver for Pirelli or in other categories of motorsport, the seven-time world champion is categorical: « It is not in my plans. F1 offers the maximum in terms of emotion, speed, and work. No other car could give me the same sensations. »
When interviewed by the Gazzetta dello Sport, the German takes a philosophical approach and claims not to retire with bitterness: « If I look back on my life, I find myself happy and smiling. I had two distinct careers: one in which I won everything and the other in which I discovered what it means to lose. Yes, I learned to lose. It made me more mature and patient, thanks to my experience. »
But when questions about his future become more specific, a rearing horse is never far away, even if it’s not necessarily the one everyone thinks of: « I think I’m going to try my hand at rodeo. My wife, Corinna, who has participated in such competitions, has already chosen the right horse for me, I’ll give it a try… » Perhaps an opportunity for the soon-to-be retiree to finally bring out his magnificent leather pants…
