Friday: Productive day for Senna, tough for Maldonado
Bruno Senna is satisfied after this first day in Korea. Despite not driving in FP1, the Brazilian believes the day was productive and aims for a good result tomorrow. Maldonado, on the other hand, had a more difficult day and hopes it will get better moving forward.
Bruno Senna – 12th [Free Practice 2]:
« It was a productive day for me. Missing the first session wasn’t ideal because I’m not very familiar with this track, and my experience here over the past two years has been hampered by rain. But in the end, I think we have a good idea of the direction we need to take to improve. It’s going to be very tight, we can see that with low fuel some cars are faster than others, so we need to improve on that, but I’m confident that we can start the race higher up on the grid. »
Pastor Maldonado – 12th and 18th:
« It has been a difficult day which means we have a lot of work to do before the qualifiers. The track is quite challenging but we had some issues with the car this afternoon that we now need to analyze to ensure we can resolve them before tomorrow. »
Valtteri Bottas – 18th [Free Practice 1]:
« It took me a few laps to get into the rhythm today. It’s a new track for me, so I first learned the turns and the circuit. I set my best time on my last lap because I couldn’t extract the best from the car when the tires were at their peak. But it was a positive day for me and the team; we completed the planned program and obtained good data that we will now analyze to learn more. »
